My Dad, who passed at age 40, left me with some great career advice..... "Kurt, do something you love. Life is short." I love golf, so my first career path was a stint as a golf professional. My second career started when we opened Innovative Images in Nov.,1992, in downtown Frisco, TX. In July, 2019, we relocated to our home studio in McKinney, TX. I am blessed to say that I took my love of golf and photography and made careers from both.
A thirst for learning and creating keeps me passionate and fresh in my career. I was trained as a portrait photographer, so I understand the technical aspects of photography and lighting in a way that is obvious in my work. The world of photography has transformed tremendously in the past 30 years and I've never been afraid of evolving yet embracing the knowledge I have gained through years on the job.
My wife, Tana, is my partner in everything including Innovative Images. We have worked together since 1998 and are still married!
In our free time, Tana and I love to hang out with the family. We have two adult children, Alona and Brock as well as son-in-law, Patrick, and soon to be daughter-in-law, Nicole. In addition, we are both obsessed with golf and football. We are avid fans of the Oklahoma Sooners. (We know....we live in enemy territory, but you'll have to excuse us as we are Native Oklahomans - Boomer Sooner!) Another hobby I enjoy is gardening. Creating beautiful floral gardens throughout the seasons at our home is a passion and one in which I utilize for gorgeous photography backgrounds in portraits. Besides flowers, I love growing lots of delicious veggies.
The trust of our clients, the support of family, and the blessings of God allow us to continue to do what we love. There have been ups and downs in this 30+ year journey, but one thing is for sure...we are still learning and enjoying the ride. We are extremely grateful for the incredible loyalty our amazing clients have demonstrated throughout the years. Each day is a gift and another opportunity to record "Your Life, Your Love and Your Legacy" through the lens of the camera.
