I have an immense passion for photographing people. It consumes me entirely!

For me, taking a portrait is not just about making a living but it stirs a feeling deep inside that is just so satisfying. I am extremely grateful to GOD, my family and clients for allowing me to stop time with my camera, so they can hold on to moments for generations to come. Seeing one of my images on the walls of  clients' homes makes me feel like I have done what GOD put me on earth to do!

Trained as a portrait photographer, I have a deep understanding of the technical aspects of photography and lighting—knowledge that is clearly reflected in my work. The photography world has evolved tremendously over the past 30 years, but I’ve always embraced change while building on the experience I’ve gained through the years.

At Innovative Images, our goal is simple: to blend expert photography with a creative, enjoyable experience that results in beautiful, timeless memories. Your story matters, and we're here to help you remember and cherish life's special moments with extraordinary portraits. The inspiration for what we do comes from a piece of career advice my dad gave me before he passed at age 40: "Kurt, do something you love. Life is short." I took that to heart. While my first career path led me to become a golf professional, my second journey began when we opened Innovative Images in November 1992 in downtown Frisco, TX. In July 2019, we moved to our home studio in McKinney, TX. Looking back, I feel incredibly fortunate to have turned my passion for both golf and photography into fulfilling careers. A thirst for learning and creativity fuels my passion every day. My wife, Tana, is not only my partner in life but also in business. We've worked together since 1998 and, happily, we're still married! When we're not working, Tana and I love spending time with our family. We have two adult children—Alona and Brock—along with son-in-law Patrick and daughter-in-law Nicole. In addition, we love hanging out with our precious dog, Byron Nelson, a Coton de Tulear. We also share a deep love for golf and football, especially as devoted fans of the Oklahoma Sooners. (Yes, we know we live in enemy territory, but as native Oklahomans, we can’t help ourselves—Boomer Sooner!) Gardening is another passion of mine. Creating beautiful floral gardens throughout the year not only brings me joy, but also serves as the perfect backdrop for many of the portraits we capture. And beyond flowers, I enjoy growing delicious veggies.

We are deeply grateful for the trust of our clients, the support of our family, and the blessings of God, which allow us to continue doing what we love. The journey over the past 30+ years has had its ups and downs, but one thing remains true: we’re still learning, still evolving, and still enjoying every moment of the ride. We are humbled by the incredible loyalty of our clients and are reminded every day that Your Life, Your Love, Your Legacy is what we get to record through the lens of the camera.
